    Description

    Mid 19th century cast iron book press.  Fully functional, turns easily open to close.  This item is from a family estate and it was actively used by a hobbyist book restorer at one time.
    No idea of manufacturer or exact date, as there are not any identifying markings on it.  Item originated from New York estate.
    Nice patina, there are obviously some finish defects, rust, chipped paint, etc. from age and use.  Please see photos.
