    Description

The US Army Signal Corps issued a distinctive leather handle machete in WW1 and WW2 to clear fields of view for heliographs and signal flags. This US Army WW1 WW2 SIGNAL CORPS "SC USA" LEATHER HANDLE MACHETE is in good condition, with some small chips in the upper blade edge, moderate patina at each side of the blade, some loosening to the guard, some patina to the guard and pommel, and with some overall age wear evident (ALL pictured). Otherwise, the machete is in fine shape, with no other damage. Most interestingly, it features a 17 7/8" blade, sports the classic stacked leather washer handle with a protruding end, and is devoid of any maker's mark, though is stamped "SC USA" at the reverse ricasso for Signal Corps US Army. It boasts a mellow darkened brass guard and pommel, and is a fine example of a rare, original US Army WW1 WW2 SIGNAL CORPS "SC USA" LEATHER HANDLE MACHETE. No scabbard included. With apologies to our valued international clients, we must restrict bidding to US bidders only. Now celebrating over 20 years on eBay.
