Original one of a kind WW2 era American fighting knife – a so-called “theater knife” made by some unknown soldier or a sailor from whatever materials were available at hand. The handle is a solid chunk of aluminum with an internal crossguard riveted to the blade. The finish is somewhat "rough around the ages" but it is still a well-balanced and practical knife. This fighter isn't pretty but it will certainly get the job done. This interesting fighter is about 11-1/2″ /29.2 cm overall; the clip-point high-carbon blade is about 7-5/8″ /19.4 cm; it's unmarked. The blade is very sharp still; the tip is intact. All parts are tight with no play. Original leather scabbard is roughly cut from a thick leather and riveted together. The scabbard is well-used but the leather is soft and supple still.
