    Description

    Vintage Akah "Zwille" or Slingshot.  These were produced in Germany starting in the late 1800's.  They continued production through WWI and WWII.  Many were brought home as souvenirs by returning Doughboys and GIs.  After WWII they were marketed as the "Hy-Power" for a short time by Phillips Importing Co. of San Pedro CA.  Difficult to locate in the U.S., this one is in excellent condition.  I believe this one would date to the 1940's or 50's based on the quality of leather stitching displayed (later examples show crude stitching).  Comes with extra replacement band in photo.  Thanks for looking!
