    Description

Up for auction is a vintage original lot of WW2 fighting knives.  All show use and or age wear but are in decent condition for their age.  All have dings dents and tarnish of some sort.  The sheaths also show wear with cuts and scuffs.  The largest in this lot is a USMC Village Blacksmith hospital corpsman bolo knife and sheath.  Handle has been modified with cross cuts to provide better grip.  Its original sheath has wear and is missing its brass web belt clip.  Marked US Boyt on reverse.  Both bolo and sheath are personalized with previous owners name in several places.  This bolo is built like a tank and in my opinion was one of the worst edged weapons produced for the US military.  I have heard it said these were made for use by corpsman for amputations and for cutting poles for stretchers.  Both ridiculous propositions which I do not believe at all.  It is a nice wall hanger though with its big bold USMC marking on blade.  The other 3 knives in this lot are handmade theater knives.  One has the name of previous owner stamped on blade.  Font looks very old so knife might be older than WW2.  Beautiful hardwood handle and thick brass cross guard.  Guard does have slightest movement but not too noticeable.  Then a smaller aluminum handle fighting knife which comes in an old Kabar hunting knife sheath.  The sheath might even predate WW2.  It is missing its keeper strap.  Knife feels good in hand.  Finally a crude knife with brass handle wrapped with copper wire and coated in some black hard resin.  Crude but effective.  Blade is robust and there are no loose parts.  Its sheath is in poor condition and included mainly to protect blade in shipment.  Please check my other knife listings.  Thanks.
