    Description

WWII USMC Raider Knife Stiletto Dagger. What’s left of the sheath and a theatre made knife that was found with it. Sheath has the name Whit, FMF(Fleet Marine Force), USMC. Above the name is another name but was too lite to tell what it was. I soaked the sheath in saddle oil and cleaned lightly to try and read all the info. Dagger had lots of rust. It’s been white vinegar soaked, cleaned and oiled. The dagger is strong and sharp with a good tip. There is pitting from rust as seen in pics. Even though sheath is damaged the info on it is probably pretty important and all the metal parts can be used to place on a reproduction sheath. This is not the Fairbairn Sykes British Commando knife, it’s the more rare Marine Raider Stiletto. The Stiletto is a Zinc/Aluminum composite. The theatre made knife has the number 181 stamped into pommel. Both knives found at an Estate Sale in the Carson City- Stagecoach Nevada area.
